Owners, Tammy and Monte Hauer, opened The Chocolate Moose in downtown Bozeman and offer a wide selection of candy and ice cream in a unique and fun environment.

Tammy is currently a partner at JLF & Associates, architects and planners. She and her partners own the newly renovated building at 140 East Main. While renovating the building and interviewing potential tenants for the retail spaces, Tammy came up with the idea of bringing an old fashioned candy store to Downtown Bozeman. One of her partners suggested the addition of the soda fountain and the plans began.

Monte has been working in sales in the Bozeman area for many years since attending Montana State University. He currently owns and operates Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions, working with local restaurants micro-filtering their cooking oil.

Together Tammy and Monte planned and developed the shoppe. While they both put in many hours behind the scenes, they have a wonderful staff of friendly faces to greet their customers. You can also find them behind the counter during special events like Music on Main and the Gallery Walks.
