Movable kitchen island – Kitchen islands are the perfect solution when you need to add additional work space to your kitchen layout without changing the footprint of your space. Although you can buy an island already made, place it in the room and it must be done, building a custom island is relatively easy and guarantees obtaining a piece that perfectly complements your decoration, as well as your needs.
Select a bathroom vanity that reflects the style of the other cabinets in your movable kitchen island. A vanity unit works well because the doors are already properly hung for a kitchen island, and you do not have to worry about connecting two individual units of the cabinet to get an island of appropriate size.
Place the vanity cabinet on top of the medium density fiberboard, and trace the outline of the box on the panel. Remove the vanity and cut the shape, either with a table saw or puzzle. Place the dresser on its side, and adhere to the MDF panel using construction adhesive. Once the adhesive is dry, reinforce the joint with wood screws on each side. Grain board Cut to size from the unfinished sides of the vanity. Use a miter saw to cut the edges at a 45 degree angle so that the edges come together very well, and attach the bead board panels using glue and finishing nails.
